GameChest speaks MCP, the protocol AI apps use to reach other services. Connect it once and the app can read your shelf as you, answer “what have I not played in a year” or “which of Ana's games seat six”, search BoardGameGeek, add a game and log a play. It asks first, on a page that says all this, and you can disconnect it any time.
You need a GameChest account (free, no ads) and one of the apps below. Signed in, the same card is under Settings → Connections, with the list of what you've connected and a Disconnect for each.
App by app
The address, the same for every app:

ChatGPT
- On the web (chatgpt.com): Settings → Apps and connectors → Advanced settings, and turn on Developer mode.
- Back in connectors, choose Create: name it GameChest, paste the address, leave authentication on OAuth, and tick that you trust it.
- Sign in to GameChest on the page it opens, and say yes.
- In a chat: + → More → Developer mode, and pick GameChest.
Developer mode is on Plus and Pro, and on Business and Enterprise when an admin turns it on. There's no link that installs a connector in ChatGPT; these clicks are it. We haven't run this one ourselves yet: if a label differs, tell us.
Claude
- On the web: Customize → Connectors → Add → Add custom connector.
- Name it GameChest, paste the address, and continue.
- On the OAuth client step choose Register automatically: that's the one known to work with GameChest.
- Sign in to GameChest on the page it opens, and say yes.
Claude Code
- Paste this in a terminal. It saves the server and returns; nothing asks yet.
- Then, in Claude Code, run /mcp, choose gamechest, and sign in on the page that opens. From the shell, `claude mcp login gamechest` does the same.
claude mcp add --transport http gamechest https://gamechest.io/api/mcp
Cursor
- Open the link on the computer with Cursor; it asks once, then opens a GameChest page to sign in.
On a phone the link has nowhere to open. Paste the address into Cursor's MCP settings instead.
VS Code
- Open the link on the computer with VS Code; it asks once, then opens a GameChest page to sign in.
On a phone the link has nowhere to open. Paste the address into VS Code's MCP settings instead.
What it can see and do
Your shelf, wishlist, plays, notes and numbers, and your friends' shelves as you see them; it can search BoardGameGeek, add games to your shelf and log plays, as you. Nothing edits or deletes, and nothing changes on BoardGameGeek by itself. What it reads goes to that app's maker on every call, under their terms. The whole answer is at What does an app I connect see?.
